A warm welcome to Lucky the Elephant

Lucky

On 9 May 2015 a third rescued elephant arrived at the Mondulkiri Project. Mr Tree has named her “Lucky” because she gets to stay with us in our elephant sanctuary in Mondulkiri rather than be sold to a business in Siem Reap to be used for elephant rides around Angkor Wat.

Lucky the elephant is 45 years old from a village near Bou Sraa Waterfall. Our mahouts had a ceremony to bless her and welcome her to the Mondulkiri Project. Following Bunong traditions a pig was sacrificed and jar wine was consumed. Lucky has quickly became friends with Princess.
