The Virak Buntham Night Bus goes via Kampong Cham and Snoul. It takes approximately 7 hours. If you stay in the bus it will take you onto Ratanakiri..
It is a good option if you want to not waste a day travelling to Mondulkiri. The beds are comfortable but they might be short for some people so lying on your side with legs bent it a good option.
Their is an upstairs and a downstairs. The upstairs has slightly more headroom. If you are a solo traveller you might want to book the space next to you as well because it is a bit awkward sharing the space with a stranger.
The bus drivers do not speak english. The locals onboard get the bus driver to stop when they need to go to the toilet but often this is just on the side of the road and not at a proper bathroom. The bus also does not stop for meals.
When you arrive on the main street of Sen Monorom there will be tuk tuks waiting to take you to the Tree Lodge Bungalows, the meeting point for Mondulkiri Project tours.
